Bridgestone HQ's
The Bridgestone HQ's opened the day's racing with a 6 lap qualifying race to decide the grid for the Boilergenics sponsored Round 1 of the WASCC Championship for Bridgestone HQ's. From the start it was a race long dice for the lead between Wayne Morfett and Steve Raisin ahead of John Dippie, Peter Brown and Jeff Watts. Morfett narrowly taking the win from Raisin.

The Championship race saw Raisin win the start over Morfett who was being pressured by Brown. Contact between the pair saw Morfett spin in the Esses. This allowed Kerry Wade to slip into 2nd ahead of Brown, Dippie and Watts. Down the field, Fred Nelson had an excursion at Shell while Max Braidwood retired with a stripped timing gear. Wade pressured Raisin all the way but was unable to get past. Then the final time into Yokohama, Wade slipped underneath Raisin with both cars leaning on each other as they sprinted to the finish line with Wade just taking victory as they crossed the line locked together. Dippie managed to get by Brown who skated off Yokohama on the 8th lap to take 3rd. Back in 5th was Jeff Watts just ahead of Luke Hansen and Tony James. Both Raisin and Wade were chaerged by the Clerk of Course over their finish line incident which was later dismissed at a Steward's hearing.

Raisin returned to take the first of the sprint races with Brown keeping the pressure on all the way. Wade and Morfett were right behind swapping places a number of times with Wade eventually taking 3rd. Watts was 5th ahead of Hansen and James. Dippie finished back in 9th after spinning at Shell corner on lap2.

Raisin made another great start to lead the second of the 6 lap sprints, though Brown tried to drive around the ouside of Raisin through Novus Loop and was left to hang out to dry, dropping to the rear of the field. Morfett slotted into 2nd just ahead of Wade who would keep the pressure on for the rest of the race. Dippie was to take 4th narrowly from Watts, with Hansen a little further back in 6th.

There seemed to be no stopping Raisin on the short circuit at night again leading from start to finish with Morfett holding onto 2nd from adetermined Brown takinh 3rd ahead of Wade, John Borich, James and Dippie having a big spin on the final corner dropping from 5th to 8th.
