![]() The Racing Line Peter Brown was to easily dominate the Bridgestone HQ's, firstly taking out the 6 lap qualifying race from Tony James, John Borich and Darren Peat. In Round 3 of the WA State Championship sponsored by Boilergenics, Brown again stamped his authority on the race to lead from the start pursued by newcomer Chris Farr in the ex-Harvey car followed by Borich dicing with Peat and James for 3rd. Next was Roger Hurkens, Paul Sampey and Mark Annette making a late start from pit lane. Then lap 6 officials flagged the race due to an exhaust pipe on the entry to Yokohama. Brown stormed away at a restart with Annette working his way quickly into 2nd ahead of James and Hurkens. Both Peat and Borich had retired from the race. Brian Bondi was next from Sampey, Neil Woodward, Ryan Barnes and Fred Nelson. Annette and James produced a good dice to the finish with Annette just getting to the line but on combined times of the two parts of the race, Annette was pipped for 2nd by James. Brown was to make it three in a row in the next 6 lap race while James and Annette had a tremendous dice for the minor placings with Annette taking2nd narrowly on the final lap. Hurkens took 4th ahead of Farr, Bondi and Borich. Annette put the pressure on Brown on the opening laps of the final race but Brown managed to pull clear. James and Farr duelled for 3rd with James coming out on top with Borich taking 5th ahead of Hurkens, Bondi and Barnes. Back to The Racing Line |Home|
