 Australian Auto Action  No. 839 27th May 1999 Peter Brown continued his domination of the HQ Holden class, leading the sixth round of the Boilergenics-sponsored WA HQ holden Championship from start to finish. Wayne Morfett eventually finished second ahead of Mike and Fred Nelson, who finished third and fourth respectively. After running as high as second early on, Tony James finished fifth ahead of Richard Spivey and John Borich. Brown almost missed th start of race two and had to start from pit lane, with Morfett grabbing the early lead ahead of Mike Annette before going on to take the win. Nelson, relishing being at the pointy end of the pack, held on to third, although he came under pressure from Spivey and James. Morfett grabbed the lead at the start of race three, with Nelson slotting into second ahead of James and Annette. Brown started ninth but quickly worked his way up the field to take the lead and the race on the final lap. Nelson again took third ahead of Annette, Borich and James. Brown, now back at the front of the field had little trouble takin out the last two six-lap races, with Morfett taking second in both. Borich took third in the first six-lapper ahead of James, Peter Bowra and Annette, while in the final event Annette took third ahead of Spivey and newcomer Jeff West.
